Industrial Credit Union is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable you to meet your financial needs and reach your financial goals. Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with your expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with ICU.
As a member of ICU, you also have a responsibility to safeguard your financial information.
To ensure that you can rely upon the quality of products and services we make available, ICU stands behind the following privacy policy:
- ICU will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct our business. That means just what is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services -- no more. This information comes from applications or forms you fill out, your transactions with us or with others, and from credit reporting agencies.
- ICU will protect your personal information. ICU will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected. Where appropriate, we will use security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality. Even if you decide to terminate your membership, or become an inactive member, we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described in this notice.
- You will always have access to information. As a member of ICU, you will always have the opportunity to review your information and make necessary changes to ensure that our records are complete and accurate.
- ICU will only share information when absolutely necessary. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law. We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform market analysis and peer group comparison services on our behalf. We will not sell member information to any person or firm for any reason.
- ICU will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members' economic well-being. Under no circumstances will we authorize these firms to charge your account without your express consent.
- The same principals and standards for protecting your privacy are also used for our online services. ICU does not automatically capture information in an attempt to identify personal e-mail addresses, or to gain unwarranted, confidential information about the user. We do use technologies that identify you when it enables us to better serve you with greater security. For instance, ICU uses cookies (a process of storing information) for ICU Online, our online banking service, as required to protect the privacy of our members' transactions and to help guide our members through the various services. Any personal data or account information that you provide is encrypted in transmission for security. E-mail correspondence with ICU is preserved to make necessary replies to members' questions, and/or to meet regulatory requirements. Whenever we ask for personal information on our web site we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for transferring data. This technology encrypts your account information so it's virtually impossible for anyone other than ICU to read it.
- ICU is committed to protecting your children's information online. We do not knowingly solicit data from children, and we do not knowingly market to children. The only use we normally make of personal information is to respond via e-mail to a question or request for information from a member, which may include a child. We recognize that protecting children's identities and privacy online is important and that the responsibility to do so rests with both the online industry and with parents.
